Why "Under the Piano?"

Howdy.

If you're reading this, you've been unknowingly drafted into my private army of people who have been selected for one job:  Shame me into working out.  I'm sad that it's come to this, but unfortunately it is way too easy to just stop working out, sleep that extra hour, have 2-4 beers after work, and eat that extra slice of pizza (or 3).  I didn't always have this willpower-deficit... I was an athlete once.  I've run a 3:29 marathon (my 9th marathon) and I have usually been able to stick to my workout programs.

What's changed?  Layla.  My little (at this writing) 3 month old daughter.  She's awesome, and along with my wife, the greatest thing ever.  She also makes it very tough to get a good night's sleep, stick to any sort of schedule, and take the time to properly work out.  I've gone from the best shape of my life to the worst shape I've been in since 2005... in 3 months.  This must stop.

I attempted to finish P90x once before... right before Layla was born.  I was doing amazing, and about 45 days in my daughter was born.  The P90x ceased immediately.  Today is Monday.  On Wednesday, I will begin a new cycle.  And I will finish it.

Daily blog posts to follow... public humiliation shortly after if I don't stick to the program.
